5 Things to be expected in buying Diamond Core Bits
On 6:22 pm / By adrix merkadoPurchasing diamond core bit – well, there are totally different types of core bits in the market today. The issue here is that, “which is which” and for that reason you search the internet and ended in this post that talks about what are the certain factors as to buying diamond core bit – from best choice for buying over the application to be applied for the tool. Let’s get into details.
Factor #1: Tool Application/Use for
This is indeed the main factor in buying core bits – the reason for its application. The description of the job wherein the core bit is to be used like how many holes to be drill with and what type of concrete to be applied for. Come up with external factors, such as conditions, deadlines, and expected profit and production rate. Is the drilling going to be limited to only a few hours a day? Does the deadline require a faster-than-usual production rate? It's imperative to consider these questions to understand how the diamond bit choice affects your project.
Factor #2: Think about Project Size and Transportability
Project size may also dictate the drill bit choice. A job requiring small patches is going to require a smaller drill bit. Transportability also affects your choice. A light weight drill bit is lightest and easiest to transport. The ability to fit in a pickup bed and its easy loading and unloading qualities make it desirable when it may need to be moved often.
Factor #3: Range of the concrete drilling project
h
When deciding on a drill, think about the range of the concrete paving project. A residential project requires a different drill than a much larger drilling project. Also examine other job factors, such as space, provisions, and mobility. Space alone can determine which of the drill bit model to use.
Factor #4: Think About Quality and Price
Quality plays a huge role in the cost and value of a diamond drill bit. You will likely be buying your diamond tools from them and want to call them should you need service or repair for your products. Moreover, purchasing a diamond core bit is different from other purchases, as it's not just a purchase, it's an investment. You are investing your time, your productivity rate, your health and your reputation into this product. So educate yourself, so you can make the right choice. Finding the right bit is about what works for you, which may mean quality, comfort, ease-of-use and expected profit.
Factor #5: Consider the depth- Drilling even deeper
A job requiring just a few thousand holes with a firm deadline may need a higher formulated brand diamond core drill bit. -

What is the Ideal Diamond Core Bit
Core bits are designed with a high diamond concentration for superior cutting performance, enhanced productivity, and longevity. Because of its hollow center, core bits can easily bore a circle in any aggregate material to create a hole. The result is a hole the size of the drill and a smaller “core” coming from the center. The core holds the material in place, allowing the diamond core bit to cut a clean hole all throughout the material. On 11:15 pm / By adrix merkado

Why Core Bit (Drill Bit) and Wood Blade (Carbide) sharpen regularly?
On 10:27 pm / By adrix merkadoCore bit and carbide wood blade should be sharpened regularly to ensure the consistency in cutting results. Yes, indeed – very important to check it’s status since often used of these blades and bits may result to ineffective cutting and drilling as well as risking the users safety measures if some failure may occur.
Sharpening wood blades and drill bits is a comparatively easy task. It saves you bucks, as you don’t need to purchase new or pay someone to sharpen the carbide wood blades and core drill bits for you.(see more of how to use wood blade in concrete saw)
In order to sharpen your wood blades or core bits, all you need is water, a brick or a concrete bricks, and of course, safety equipment.
1 - Set-up the water you will be using by hooking a hook on the faucet and applying a midrange level of water pressure. Aim the water on the brick or concrete block and have it continuously run on the surface you will cut the diamond blade into.
2 - Carefully turn the saw on and start cutting into the brick or concrete block. The water helps sharpens wood blades because it mixes with the vestiges produced by the saw. The resulting paste-like slurry is abrasive enough to sharpen the wood blade. Continuously doing so will wear the carbide wood blade down, thereby exposing new diamonds.
3 - 2-3 inches of cutting into the brick or block concrete is enough. Use eye protection and wear goggles to ensure safety while sharpening the diamond blades for your saw.
Core Bit should be sharpen accordingly specially if it's a diamond core bit...
4. Repeat until you’ve reached the desired sharpness of the wood blade. It normally depends on the dullness of the blade and the abrasiveness of the brick or block concrete. The amount of water used and the blade hardness are also factors on how long the process takes.
There you have it. It’s just that easy right? Now after sharpening wood blade, let’s talk about the core bits. Here are a few tips for sharpening core bits:
1 - Prevention is always better than cure so to maintain the sharpness of your core bits, make it a habit to return them safely to their case instead of just tossing them into your toolbox. The tips are then protected from breaking while the edges from dulling.
2 - Using a fine metal file, file drill bits at a repetitive angled pressure at the tip of the drill bit. You can easily test the sharpness by using the tip of your finger. Keep repeating until you have reached the desired sharpness.
3 - Have an electric bench grinder hold the drill bit firmly in its core using low speed. Apply light pressure and rotate the core bits to all sides until it is sharpened. Don’t forget to cool the core bits repeatedly.
4 - Insert the core bit then into a vise and continue filing the ridges using a metal file.
When handling any construction equipment, always wear safety products. These include goggles, hard hats, gas masks, and gloves. Not only will the job get done faster, but you are also ensuring your safety and the safety of the people around you. -

Tips in Changing Core Bit from Drill Machine
When drilling using a core bit, there might times that an operator may need to change the core bit and replaced a new one. One of the main or common mistakes observed when handling core bit drill is the incorrect size of the hole which means the project is totally ruin when that results may occur. In order to drill the hole with correct diameter, the core drill user or operator should see and know how to change a core bits in the core drill. On 7:25 pm / By adrix merkado
Changing the core bit in the core drill
1 – Make sure that the core drill machine is unplugged.
2 – Removed the chucked key from the key holder of the power tool usually located on the right side of the drilling machine which is just above the chuck.
3 - Insert the chuck key into the chuck of the core bit drill, ensuring that the teeth on the chuck key interlock with the teeth on the core drill chuck. Turn the chuck key counterclockwise to loosen the chuck and release the bit.
4 - Remove the core bit and replace it with the desired and proper size drill bit. Make certain that the shaft of the new drill bit is in the drill chuck straight and as far as it can go. Turn the chuck key clockwise until the chuck closes around the new drill bit. Return the chuck key to the chuck key holder and plug the drill press into a power source, completing the changing of drill bit in the core drilling machine.

Advance Power tool: Diamond Core Bit Drills
What is drilling on concretes in the past? Of course you’ll consider the spear-point tools that seem to be the master at those not so distant times. Not for now as the technology evolves, we have to accept the fact that new era has come for drilling concretes - (Diamond Blade) Core Bit Drills. On 11:23 pm / By adrix merkado

Core Bits are cutting tools that create cylindrical, precision cut holes. Held in place by a drill, drill bits are rotated with torque and axial force to create a hole. Diamond core bits are the newest expertise in drill bits, more superior and dominant, being able to cut through thick applications of concrete, cured concrete, masonry, stones, tiles, and the like. Drill bits with diamonds can deliver extremely fast cutting actions over a long period of time. Laser welded, diamond core bits can stand extreme heat and cutting pressure. A high diamond concentration guarantees superior cutting performance, enhanced productivity, and longevity.
As a review from the past blog post, here’s the different type of Core Bit power tools.
Concrete core bits are appropriate for both wet and dry drilling.
Wet concrete core bits are used for wet drilling on cured concrete with soft to hard aggregate and light to intermediate steel reinforcing.
Dry masonry core bits, on the other hand, are used to drill a variety of soft brick and concrete block. Concrete core bits are also available in a variety of sizes and diameters.
Stone/Tile core bits make certain a smooth, accurate, and clean cut on granite, marble, porcelain, artificial and natural stone, ceramic, and the like. Used with either an angle grinder or water fed polisher, stone core bits are used for wet drilling only. Accessories available for drill bits are adapters, drilling guides, extension shafts, and drilling guide kits. -

Core Bit Drilling Lubrication Tips and Techniques 101
There are several types of industrial water-feed equipment for professional used or recommended industrial specialized jobs. Though it may be easy as it seems, drilling using a diamond core bits (see core bit) with the knowledge of proper lubrication and techniques must be primary on professionals list.On 3:57 pm / By adrix merkado

By definition, Lubrication is the process, or technique employed to reduce wear of one or both surfaces in close proximity, and moving relative to each another, by interposing a substance called lubricant between the surfaces to carry or to help carry the load (pressure generated) between the opposing surfaces. On the other hand, all lubrication methods are not equal.
The main purpose why we are talking is that good knowledge and proper handling of lubrication may extends the core bit drill life accordingly as well as smooth results in any drilling or cutting projects.
What are the different types of lubrication methods?
1 – Clay Dam Lubrication Method (Rating: 8)
This method will provide the core bit drill of approximately 4 times that of using squirt bottle. This lubrication technique is to build a "dam" around the drill hole using a small amount of modeling clay or a similar material. This method is very effective, especially if the water extends above the side tip lubrication hole to allow water to flow into the bit providing good interior lubrication. "Pumping" the drill will also increase the lubrication at the tip. The clay can be used many times if it is stored in a plastic sandwich style zip-lock bag to keep it from drying out.
2 – Traditional Squirt Bottle (Rating: 2)
The most basic method is to use a small hose that runs water onto the surface near the hole and down into the bore hole. To provide lubrication on a horizontal surface, one trick is to place a plastic jug or bottle with a small hole near the bottom of it, next to the drill hole. The water leaks out of the bottle and provides continuous lubrication as you drill. To allow lubrication to reach the drill tip, it is important to use a "pumping" technique described below. Without the pumping technique, the water rarely reaches the very tip of the drill bit.

Importance of drilling pressure in using core bit drill?
As the title of this post suggest, drilling pressure is very important drilling concretes since:On 8:13 pm / By adrix merkado
- 1 – It will help your drilling project run smoothly.
- 2 – It will prolong the life of your core bit and the drilling machines.
- 3 – It will give you best results of drilling and may avoid concrete or masonry breakage if unlikely pressure may occur.
So what’s the exact pressure to be applied in drilling and what are the tips?
So here’s my tips, when using normal drill bits on soft materials such as wood, increasing the pressure causes the bit to drill faster and has little affect upon friction or heat build-up on the bit. When drilling in harder materials such as hardwoods, it is more important to reduce the pressure and let the bit "drill at its own speed".
Otherwise, friction will quickly burn up the bit. When using diamond drill bits, the affect is similar to hardwood drilling, but it is magnified many times due to the extreme hardness and abrasiveness of the material being drilled.
When using diamond drills on glass, ceramic or porcelain tile, limestone, marble and granite, etc, it is very important to have only light to medium pressure on the drill and to let the bit "drill at its own speed". Increasing pressure will not speed up the cutting noticeably, but it will increase the friction considerably and quickly cause the bit to overheat. This not only burns up the bit, but it also heats up the surrounding surface and can cause heat fractures or breakage to occur. -

How to safely remove the drill bit from a concrete or masonry hole
When drilling holes in concretes, you may need masonry core bits. The drilling machines you will use depend on the type of concrete core bits. You may find some drill bits like a rounded that are used for hammering type drills. The standard drilling machines may use a regular tip concrete core bits.(You may see Why should you choose Diamond Core Bits in drilling?) Sometimes, Failure that may result breakage in the bit is because of not continuing or fail to exit the drill bit to the concrete materials. Here are my tips on how to safely remove the drill bit when unexpected case happen like drill bit breakage or something. On 6:00 pm / By adrix merkado
You may need the following: Canned air, Vise grips and Needle-nose pliers.
- 1 - Blow air straight into the hole with the canned air. This will loosen and remove some of the concrete dust around the drill core bit.
- 2 - Lock the jaws of a pair of vise grips around the end of the bit, if the bit broke off above the surface. Clutch the bit as close to the work surface as possible. Drag out the drill core bit while turning the bit counterclockwise with the vise grips. Blow air into the hole as necessary if the bit jams while removing it from the concrete.(see A must have Drilling Guide Kit)
- 3 - Insert the jaw tips of a pair of needle-nose pliers into the hole, if the bit broke below the work surface. Try to grasp the end of the bit with the needle-nose pliers. If the needle-nose pliers cannot reach the bit, make the hole slightly larger with another drill bit. Drill just until you reach the broken bit.
- 4 - Blow the hole out with the canned air. Grip the end of the drill bit with the needle-nose pliers. Pull and wind counterclockwise with the pliers to remove the bit from the hole.

Core Bit Tips: How to Drill Faucet Holes
On 7:17 pm / By adrix merkadoHere’s a brief summary on how to drill on faucet holes in granite countertop or vanity using a diamond core bit drill (core bits, diamond blade and saw blades)
- First, marked sink centers. It is important to measure it twice to double check proper alignment.
- When measure, be sure that there are rooms allowed for splashes. The center of the marked (the ring you see in the images) area represents the size of the core bit.
- The top or marked area can now be drilled since you already get the proper measurement.
- Start your drilling with a shallow ring. Once you have get the track ring, Try starting gentle pressure and let the core bit or the grinder do the job.
- For wet drilling, always used water since water can help core bits from being damaged.
- Occasionally removed the core bit from the hole – this gives core bit a chance to cool down.
- It is important to take time when drilling.
That’s it for today. Have a great drilling day folks! For more information about diamond core bit, visit (Premium Core Bits, Diamond Blade and Saw Blades available) -

Core Bit: How to use Core Bit Drills
Centuries ago, drilling is only a core for survival to get water supplies, now drilling is one of the main actions in building great infrastructure whether its high rise or deep excavation projects. Modern drilling done so easily since core bit drills were invented and studied to be more efficient when in used.On 9:09 pm / By adrix merkado
The Core Bit Drill
There are certain techniques when using diamond core bit drill which also affects the core bit drill performance. Guidelines and safety precautions are being followed to ensure that the drilling project is safe and effective as well as hassle free and may help lengthen the life span of core bit drill. Always remember to wear safety gadgets for precautions such as safety glasses, proper footwear, safety suit, earplug as well as helmet for protection. In some cases, respiratory equipment may also need.
Techniques in using core bit drills
1. Always secure the core bit drill to the surface of the area to work with. Make sure that there is no movement when the drilling started and let the core bit drill do the work.
2. Be sure to prepare Water. Water acts as a lubricant and a flusher to ensure cutting residue
3. Always apply proper amount of force to the core bit drill when drilling. Don’t force the core bit drill and the entire circumference of the core bit should penetrate the drilling surface before additional pressure is applied to the core bit drill handle.
4. Avoid stopping of the water flow or even the rotation of the core bit if it is still in the hole.
5. When the drilling rate or process is decreasing, check the core bit. Slow penetration rate of the core bit means it needs to be check and recognition.
